Back in 2016, I spent a fabulous week in Canada’s vibrant, beautiful and bilingual city, Montreal. And, y’all better believe that this city knows coffee! One of my favourite adventures to have in any city I visit is the hunt for the best coffee. I have a strong passion for coffee; nothing soothes the soul like a dry (and I mean dry) cappuccino. (Inserts sighs of happiness). In my lovely personal opinion, these are the best coffee shops in Montreal.

Resonance

     Let me start with my personal favourite coffee shop in the city. If you are looking for great coffee and live music in a trendy part of Montreal, Resonance is the place for you. They have live music almost every night, great food and excellent espresso. I was lucky enough to visit this cafe for one of their jazz nights and it was fabulous. Jazz + coffee = The American, ahem, Canadian dream!

Replika

     Another one of Montreal’s best coffee shops is Replika. With their unique plates and super friendly staff, it’s a must visit stop I really enjoyed the vibes of this cafe a lot, like a lot , a lot! It was warm, cozy and felt like a good place to work or get lost in a book all day, which is a great atmosphere to go with good coffee. Good book + good coffee = Cass’ dream!

 Cafe Myriade

     A very popular cafe, with three locations in Montreal. Cafe Myriade serves smooth espresso and AH-mazing local pastries. They have the best chocolate croissants I have ever had, in my entire life.

Humble Lion

     Located close to Montreal’s downtown, Humble Lion is a great spot to take a break from school, work or shopping. I really enjoyed the nice people, delicious coffee and the building/decor of this coffee shop. It’s rather quaint and cute. Fine coffee and a welcoming presences makes Humble lion a top coffee shop in Montreal.

Tunnel Espresso

     Tunnel Espresso is literally a hole in a wall in the underground mall in Montreal, but don’t let it’s appearance cloud your judgement. They pull great shots of coffee that will make your shopping experience even better. Definitely one of Montreal’s best coffee shops.

     I strongly recommend visiting Montreal, where you can pop into any one or all of these great coffee shops, especially if you visit Montreal in the wonderfully cold- ass, yet wonderful, Canadian winter. It will help warm you up fo sho!
