2018 Music Festival Bucket List

I pull out all of my favourite dance moves as I stand in a crowd while watching Miike Snow perform live at The Divide Music Festival. Orange and yellow rays shine out from behind the stage as the sun starts to set. A mix of fresh mountain air and the smell of delicious food truck pizza fills my nostrils. I look around me and take in the beauty of Winter Park, Colorado. The sky is blue, the grass is green and the mountains surrounding the festival grounds are majestic. The amazing scenery only enhances the fabulous music. I take a sip of my beer and continue to enjoy myself with a group of my favourite (or favorite) Americans.

I believe with all of my soul that everybody should experience the fun and pure bliss that come from being at a music festival. Music festivals are the perfect getaway to have with your favourite people. You can camp, wear cute clothes, enjoy delicious food, discover new songs, make new friends and spend every evening jam out to your favourite artists. Honestly, what could be better?

Hundreds of music festivals happen throughout the year, all over the world. Obviously, Coachella is a big one. Located in southern California, the music festival provides its attendees with great music, incredible art pieces and over 100 food vendors. (YASSSS!) The festival always has a great lineup, this year the headliners are, The Weekend, Beyonce and Eminem. In my expert opinion, you should definitely add Coachella to your bucket list. The festival happens over two weekends every April, and this year it will be happening April 13th-15th and 20th-22nd. Add it to your 2018 travel plans, and check out any one (or all) of these other awesome festivals that are happening all over the world! Pro tip: create a music festival bucket list, add all of these festivals and become a music festival legend.

Secret Solstice:  This musical festival is in Reykjavik, Iceland. The lineup is always amazing, and in the past have included artist such as, the Foo Fighters. This event takes place during Iceland’s summer, when the sun never sets. You can party under the midnight sun! In between shows you can check out the natural beauty of Iceland, and explore glaciers, volcanoes and the ocean. This music festival is an absolute must! If you are looking for tickets for Secret Solstice please message me because I have some 🙂

Osheaga: Located in Montreal, Canada’s beautiful, bilingual city Osheaga is a music festival you need to attend. August 3rd-5th, make your way up to the Great White North and dance the nights away as you listen to great artist. In between shows have fun hanging out at the Osheaga Play or Wifi Chill Zone. Osheaga is known for having a ton of fun activities as well as awesome music, one year the event had a massage booth! Of course don’t forget about the food! The festival has a variety of food trucks, with vegetarian, vegan and gluten free options. Pro tip: Don’t be fooled by Canada’s cold reputation, Montreal is hot in August.

Rock in Rio: This has to be one of the coolest music events out there. The music festival happens twice a year, in different locations. This year, the festival is taking place in Lisbon. You get to travel to a foreign country, explore a new culture, learn a new language and get your groove on while listening to famous bands like Aerosmith, Bon Jovi, Lady Gaga, Justin Timberlake, Guns N’ Roses, Maroon 5, Fergie (Ferg), and many more. Rock in Rio sounds AHmazing, this is a must add to your music festival bucket list.

Bonnaroo: If you love Eminem, The Killers, Muse, Old Crow Medicine Show, or Bon Iver, then the Bonnaroo is where you need to be June 7th-10th. Located in Manchester, Tennessee this three day music event has great music, art, delicious food, and an awesome campsite. If that wasn’t good enough the Bonnaroo Festival aims to be the greenest music festival in the world. Their mission is to do their part in keeping our planet healthy and to lead the way in sustainability and green practices for concert events.

Byron Bay Bluesfest: Have you ever wanted to take a trip down under? Let 2018 be the year you do! While you are there why not stop by the Byron Bay Bluesfest! Byron Bay is one of the most beautiful places in the whole world. It is a gorgeous coastal town that is home to many beautiful beaches and epic surf spots. It would be the perfect place to spend 5 days listening to artist like, Lionel Richie, Kesha, and Sheryl Crow.

The Meadow Music and Art Festival: This legendary festival is located in the great New York City. This festival is so much fun and also has after parties that you can purchase tickets to. Last years artist included, Jay-Z, The Red Hot Chili Peppers, Future, Gorillaz, and Weezer. Def check out The Meadows and have found roaming around the big apple.
