Destinations I am Dreaming Of Exploring

Not being able to even have the option to travel internationally has made me realize one thing, I love travelling and I miss it more than anything. I know what you are thinking, “duh, Cass. You run a travel blog, of course, you love travelling.” But, what you don’t know, and what I didn’t fully understand was how much I love wandering.

Nothing makes me feel more like myself than going on an adventure and exploring the world. I feel kind of like Bilbo Baggins, in The Fellowship Of The Ring, when he is talking to Gandalf at the very beginning when he says, “I want to see mountains again, Gandalf, mountains…”. I was made to wander, and even though I am so appreciative of being home this year, I am very excited for the day when I get to head to the airport, board a plane and touch down somewhere exciting.

While I have been in quarantine and enjoying the comforts of home and family, I have been daydreaming about the places I am wanting to explore next. Here are ten destinations I am eager to adventure to once the world is open.

10 Places I Am Looking Forward To Exploring In 2021

1. Scotland

All year, literally since the pandemic started in March I have been dreaming about visiting Scotland. I love the UK, I have been to England, Wales and Northern Ireland but I have not been to Scotland and I am just so excited to be able to jump over the pond and explore around. I am dreaming about exploring enchanted castles, going on a ghost tour, tasting some Scotish whiskey and met some attractive Scotts men with beards and in kilts.

2. Australia

Australia is one of my all-time favourite countries and I haven’t been since 2013. It has been way too long, and now that I know how to surf, I want to head down under and catch a few waves I want to stop at all the best beach areas on the east coast, but also make time to enjoy some adventures in the outback.  I also love the wildlife in Australia, so I am excited to get to see more of it in the wild.

3. Portugal

Have you seen photos of the beaches in Portugal? Honestly, they look perfect! Portugal has some great surf locations that I want to visit as well as cute towns and a vibrant culture that I need to explore. I want to explore more of Europe and I think Portugal will be a great place to start.

4. Iceland

I would really like to do a solo adventure in Iceland. I think it would be such a great place to enjoy connecting with nature, meeting new people and learning about their culture. The waterfalls, black sand beaches and blue lagoon all look so stunning and I would love to wander with my camera and make photo magic.

5. Mexico

I have been to Mexico before, but I can’t wait to go back. While living the quarantine life this year I started watching a lot of HGTV, and I really got into the travelling home shows. One of my favourite shows to watch is Mexico Life, where people going shopping for homes in different areas of Mexico. After watching it every week, I have become so interested in exploring more of Mexico, mainly Los Coba, Zipolite, Mexico City, and Puerto Morelos.

6. Norway

Norway, land of gnomes and trolls! (that’s from the Book of Moron, incase you didn’t know.) Norway looks stunning and I would like to visit it and enjoy the breathtaking landscape, enjoy a Scandinavian spa experience and dive into Norwegian traditions.

7. Romania

Romania is such a beautiful country that I think is seriously underrated. It is beautiful and has mountains, forests, castles, medical cities and vampires. The people are super nice, and there is so much history, culture and folklore to discover.

8. New Zealand

One of my biggest dreams is to head to New Zealand and live out my Lord Of The Rings fantasies. Basically, I want to horseback ride around the whole thing and pretend I am in Middle Earth, dating Aragorn, and help save the whole planet from total evil taking over forever. Also, it looks beautiful, and I have become friends with every Kiwi, I have ever met so I feel like I’ll love it.

9. South Africa

I have been to Cape Town and it is one of my favourite places, (yes, I know I say that a lot but every place is so great for so many different reasons.)

10. Ibiza, Spain

I am really not much of a partier, but the beaches in Ibiza look like heaven and I would love to get the chance to enjoy the view with my own eyes. After watching the Netflix show, White Lines (I highly recommend it), I fell in love with the warm vibes of Ibiza and I am hoping to get to explore it sometime soon.

I am hoping to be able to enjoy these destinations soon. Where are you dreaming of exploring? Let me know in the comments and we can daydream together.

Sending you love and light,
