Adventures To Go On In Colorado Springs

Have you ever traveled to a new city and instantly fell in love with everything about it, so much so that it feels like home? Well I have! I usually love every new city and country I visit, but there is actually only one city that I have traveled to that has left such an incredible impression that I am now planning on moving to it. Colorado Springs, is my home away from home,

The first time I visited Colorado Springs was in 2014, and I never would have thought that I would have falling in love with it as mush as I have. Colorado Springs is an exciting city filled with some great craft beer, smooth coffee, and hipsters. It is also home to many outdoor activities, which is one of many reasons why I love visiting it. If you love, or are at least a little interested in outdoor activities such as, climbing, hiking, paddle boarding, or skiing, then Colorado Springs is the place for you!

Here are some fun adventures I recommend you do when you visit Colorado Springs.

1. Hiking! If you are a follower of my blog, which you should be, you know that I love hiking! Colorado Springs has a lot of great trails, that are perfect for all skill levels. If you are a passionate trails men, or newbie hiker, Colorado Springs has a trail for you. I recommend hiking these trails while you visit the city: The Incline, Red Mountain, Barr Trail Red Rock Canyon, and Palmer Park.

2. Pikes Peak – America’s Mountain. Colorado Springs is home to the beautiful rocky mountains, and is located in the shadow of the beautiful 14er Pikes Peak, also known has America’s Mountain. It is so beautiful, and a must see for anyone who is visiting Colorado Springs. You can reach the peak of Pikes Peak, on foot, by bike, take the train, or drive up. Pro Tip: Enjoy the world-famous donuts at the top!

3. Garden of the Gods. The Garden of the Gods is one of the most beautiful places I have ever been. I remember the first time I visited the Garden of the Gods. I got in the car and had no idea where we were going. I was in the car talking about who knows what, when all over a sudden there were huge red rock formations. I was speechless (which is a big deal of me, I’m a talker haha) and just stared out the window the whole time. Every time I visit Colorado Springs I make sure to visit the Garden of the God’s at least once.

4. Manitou Springs. This is my favourite neighbourhood in Colorado Springs. It is a very hipster area with cute shops, unique cafes and a PENNY ARCADE! It is a must see when visiting Colorado. Watch my video about Manitou Springs here

5. Cave of the Winds. Cave of the Winds is a super fun adventure park, that has adventures for all ages. It is home to the Terror-dactyl aka an adrenaline-lovers dream. It launches its riders into a 150-foot canyon at close to one hundred miles per hour. Check it out!

6. PikesRide Bikes. A new addition to Colorado Springs’ downtown, Pikes Bikes, is a rent a bike program where you can rent a bike and enjoy a lovely ride downtown. There are parking stations throughout downtown, so you can stop, park and then hop back on and ride. It is a great and different way to explore the city.

7. Enjoy beer and coffee. As I mentioned, Colorado Springs has some great beer and coffee. While you are exploring Colorado Springs, I recommend you take a break and indulge in a nice cold beer or a delicious hot coffee. Check out The Bristol Pub, Goat Patch Brewing, and Phantom Canyon for beer, and Wild Goose, Switchback Coffee Roasters, and Loyal Coffee for coffee. If you want to kick it up a notch, check out some of Colorado Springs’ distilleries, my personal favourite, Axe and the Oak, Brooklyn’s on Boulder Street, and Blue fish Distillery.

Those are seven little adventures you can enjoy while exploring Colorado Springs. If you are heading to my favourite USA city, let me know and share your photos with me on Instagram!

I love y’all,
